John Lennon and The Beatles
John Lennon and the Beatles played a very large part in revolutionizing the
Rock 'n Roll era. They produced music which had the power to grab the attention
of millions and millions of people in England and North America. Their careers
quickly left England and stepped to the next level when it came to the United
States. Most bands produced one or two hits in a album however the aspect which
made the Beatles so remarkable was that almost every song the Beatles made was
a hit. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were the ones writing the majority of
the songs. Those two musicians together were able to create music many bands
could never achieve. During the Beatles era, Rock 'n Roll was a relatively new
phenomena. Started out by the greats like BB King and Elvis Presley, it was
strongly propelled by John Lennon and the rest of the Beatles. With song after
song number one on the charts, teenagers looked up to these men as mentors.
They made Rock 'n Roll spread to millions of households across the continent.
To say the Beatles actually strengthened Rock N’ Roll is difficult to determine,
however it is quite obvious that they started a new era of Rock and made strong
contributions.
The Beatles can easily be compared to a group today like the Backstreet Boys.
They started a new generation of music. Like the Backstreet Boys, The Beatles
triggered spin off bands to start playing similar music to them. Like N'Sync,
Five and 98 Degrees are similar to the Backstreet Boys, bands such as the Monkees,
Modern English and Madness were similar to the Beatles. John Lennon led the
Beatles and the music industry into a new era of Rock N' Roll and was very prosperous
at that. Although there are still mysteries on why and for what reason John
Lennon was murdered, there are many facts to look at regarding the issue. After
looking at these facts and reporting, it is possible to determine whether the
theories are valid. By doing this, it may be possible to avoid such a situation
in the future, without losing a well-respected legacy of music. Not only did
John Lennon have an effect on the music industry of the 1960's but he also had
an effect on the society itself. John integrated the themes of love and peace
into the music he created and produced. He was a very loving man and believed
strongly in world peace.
Since his music was listened to by millions of people, his messages had influences
on their perception of life. Not only was he listened to through his music but
since he was such a respected man, when John spoke, people listened. Some saw
him as a genius and some saw him as crazy, however John saw himself as a normal
person with different views. "Am I crazy or am I a genius? I don’t think
I'm either." John taught people to love, to respect, to strive for peace
and to accept themselves for who they are. His songs sent these messages and
so did his words to the press. John's messages traveled far with the American
and British people. Even today they linger around and have influence on the
minds of many. John Lennon had a life of fame and a life of love. His life of
fame took off with the formation of the Beatles. A small time Rock group in
England soon became a number one group across all of North America. The Beatles
were defiantly known by all of North America and Great Britain and probably
known in many other parts of the world. The whole group, especially John becomes
very wealthy and respected.
Many people began to admire the Beatles because of their success. Personal
wealth and success are not the true reason John is an admirable person. The
true reason John is admirable is that he was a man with wisdom in life and love.
On his second marriage, John seemed like he truly fell in love. "I'd never
met a woman I considered as intelligent as me. That sounds big-headed, but every
woman I met was either a dolly-chick, or a sort of screwed-up intellectual chick.
And of course, in the field I was in, I didn’t meet many intellectual people
anyway. I always had this dream of meeting an artist, an artist girl who would
be like me. And I thought it was a myth, but then I met Yoko and that was it."
John's wife Yoko satisfied his physical and mental needs. This is something
many people do not have in a marriage. John had a successful career, a wonderful
marriage and even more importantly, John contained a wisdom and intelligence
which should be strived for. He was amazingly gifted in his works and was able
to write poems and music remarkably. He had a strong grasp on life and had an
understanding of himself. He had confidence in himself, although he kept a balance
between confidence and ego. "If being an egomaniac means I believe in what
I do and in my art or my music, then in that respect you can call me that...
I believe in what I do, and I'll say it." . He had
control of his career, his life, his marriage and ultimately himself, and this
is why John Lennon is to be so greatly admired.
Analyzing John Lennon's life provides good lessons for youth today. His understanding
of life, love and success can guide people through their lives. On the life
perspective, John knew himself and told people to find their true selves. He
preached of wisdom and education and also believed in the advancement of a person.
Every person on this planet should work to advance themselves. John did it and
people should strive to do it as well as him if not better. Also, John's love
life was an outstanding one. He never said anything about looks in his talks
about his wife Yoko. His only mention was how they were soul mates for each
other. This is very important and should be mimicked because looks do not last.
Good looks will come and go but people meant for each other are genuine. John
and Yoko we're genuine and he even talked about how to strengthen that bond
and make it work. "Love is the flower you've got to let it grow."
Lastly, John modeled how to be successful yet still keep a straight mind about
it.
